2 sun cube 7 steps
I have started making 2 sun cube 7-step puzzle boxes. This time, I'm making more than 50 of them, including orders from two shop owners. I often removed this 2 sun cube size with 7 steps from my product list. I thought this product wasn't popular because the mechanism is easy, the box is small, and the price isn't that low price. However, it seems to sell well in each shop, and I've received orders again (Thank you!). This time's design includes the usual combination of yosegi and walnut wood, as well as a solid lid panel and magnolia wood (ho wood) design that I have made several times before (photo).
I will continue to produce these boxes if there are requests in the future. However, there is a limited supply of the "keyaki wood" used for the lid panels (it's running low), so once that runs out, this wood combination design will be discontinued. Because the 7-step mechanism is easy, some people use this box to send gifts like small items or accessories. I've often heard from customers that they use this box to present accessories as gifts. The box is small, fits in the palm of your hand, and is cute, so I think it's a great idea.
Additionally, I am considering creating a few new designs of this box to sell directly (face-to-face sales). As I mentioned before, I might participate in sales events within Japan, and I plan to sell them there. I will gradually increase the number of products for that purpose. Since I won’t be selling yosegi-zaiku design puzzle boxes there, I will make these solid wood boxes instead.
When I sell these small boxes individually from my online shop, the shipping costs and other expenses are quite high, making the price of the puzzle box relatively expensive for its size. Therefore, I think it is better to wholesale a large number of them to overseas shops and have them sell the boxes on my behalf. Other than that, selling them domestically in Japan at sales events like this is a good option😄
