Double compartment (2)

This morning, I only worked for a short time. However, I managed to assemble the frame parts of the 4-sun double-layer secret boxes I prepared yesterday and also worked on making the "Aruki (moving panels)" components for these boxes.
Ordinarily, the workflow involves assembling the frame parts first, attaching the structural components next, and then moving on to making the Aruki. However, today I started with the Aruki production instead. Occasionally, I adjust the workflow based on time considerations and prioritize the Aruki production.

Aruki panels can only be made once the frame of the box is completed. This is because they are crafted to fit precisely with each specific frame. Even when creating identical boxes, the Aruki panels must be custom-made for each production batch.
It’s impossible to prepare Aruki panels in advance. For instance, even if I plan to make another 30 units of the 4-sun double-layer secret boxes next week, I cannot produce 30 extra Aruki panels during the current production. This is because precise measurements are crucial, and even subtle differences, such as the slight variations in hand pressure during crafting, can alter the dimensions of the Aruki. Even a deviation as small as the width of a single hair can affect the movement.
As a result, each Aruki panel must be adjusted repeatedly to fit the frame panels, ensuring their movement aligns perfectly.

If time allows, I plan to attach the parts of structure next. After that, I will assemble the Aruki panels I crafted this time. Fortunately, it seems that the weather will remain sunny and dry for the next few days, so I don't need to worry about the shrinkage of the wood used for the mechanisms.
Once that is complete, the process will move on to attaching the outer panels.
