5-sun drawer 10-step box

This morning, I attached the final panels to the 3-sun 12-step Japanese puzzle boxes. With this, the panel attachment for these boxes is complete. Starting tomorrow, I will move on to the painting process.
As seen in the photo, there are four boxes with outer panels made entirely of walnut. These boxes will have a single Yosegi accent attached. The Yosegi accents will be applied just before the base coat is painted, once the boxes are fully finished. This time, I plan to use solid wood Yosegi accents.

Currently, there are several puzzle boxes I am prioritizing, but due to various reasons, I decided to start with the 5-sun drawer box. The materials have already been prepared and shaved down to the specified thickness.
Today, already I worked on crafting the frame and processing the top Aruki panel. The photo shows the top Aruki panel. This was made using a method called "Hashibami," where a single panel is composed of three separate parts. This method is designed to prevent the panel from warping. It is used for boxes 5-sun or larger, as the larger top Aruki panels are more prone to warping.

Today, I removed the New Year decorations that had been attached to the entrance of my workshop since the end of the year. Traditionally, these decorations are kept up during a period called "Matsunouchi", though the length of this period varies by region.
In our area, it is generally considered customary to keep them up until the 15th. However, since many regions follow the practice of removing them by the 7th, I decided to take them down today.
The atmosphere already feels as though the New Year’s celebrations are over. The next major event is "Seijin-shiki "(Coming of Age Ceremony), which will take place this weekend in various areas to celebrate those who have turned 20.
I plan to continue working on these tasks tomorrow as well.
